Default Showing your Cat.

Have a beautiful Bengal cat alter to show? Follow these tips and you should be fine! We tried to keep it as short, simple and helpful as possible.

1) First and foremost, you need a kitty, obviously, whether its your fluffy moggie or a pedigreed short-hair, it doesn't matter, as long as it's a cat. (Though bringing a dog might be kind of interesting.....)

2) You need to find a place that is hosting a show. You can find information on TICA shows here: http://www.ticamembers.org/calendar/ or you can find information on a CFA show here: http://www.cfainc.org/exhibitors/show-schedule.html

3) Now that you have picked out your show, you need to enter it. We find the TICA show calendar more user friendly. Many clubs have links to fliers with all the information that you need for the show.

4) When you enter the show, for the first time, we suggest you do a one cat entry, with an extra half cage. You are given a "half cage" with your entry, and you can get half-cage containers for your cat, but most people opt for the whole cage. It makes things so much better.

5) Make sure you have everything you need: Cat litter box and litter, cage cover for privacy, water, something for kitty to lay on, paper towels for accidents, deodorizer and whatever else you think would make kitty comfortable.

6) Bathe your kitty at least 3 days before the show, (if you need to) so her coat will return to normal before show time! Also, make sure her nails are done and her ears are clean!

7) When you get to the show hall, check in, find your table and find out your kitty's number. That is the number they will be using when they want to see your cat in the ring.

8) Usually, when you get to the show hall, there will be different "rings" (small areas with several cages to hold cats being judged). When they call your number, you walk up to the ring, and place your cat into the cage labeled with her number. The ring number that you are being called to will be announced as well.

9) Do not talk to the judge or tell the judge the cats name! If you need to relay a message to the judge, talk to the clerk that will be sitting next to him.

10) Take your cat out of the ring when asked to do so.

There, that's it in a nutshell! Feel free to add anything or ask questions
